FAQs

Frequently asked questions about our Rydables, tours, events, and more!

  • Are Rydables safe?

Rydables prioritize safety! They are classified as ADA-compliant mobility scooters. Here are some key safety features:

    - Each cart is equipped with electromagnetic braking that automatically activates when the throttle is realeased (just squeeze to move and let go to stop- it's that easy).

    - All carts include an anti-roll, hill-lock feature to prevent unwanted movement when stationary on an incline or decline.

    - Desinged with 2-wheel drive, each cart hass suspension at all four wheels for a smoother ride.

    - The top speed can be manually or electronically limited, depending on the rider and the specific venue.

  • Are they just for kids?

No, Rydables are not just for kids. Rydables are a very unique product in that they truly have universal appeal. While they are great for kids, more than half of our customers are over 18! They're a big hit for all ages and the kid in all of us.

  • Can children under 12 ride alone?

No, for the safety of all riders, children under 12 must be accompained by an adult.

  • Can I pick a tour, date, and time that's not on the schedule?

Yes, if there are any tours, days, and/or times that do not fit your groups needs/wants, please reach out to us via email and we will work on getting your group scheduled.

  • What is the weight capacity?

Rydables hold up to 400 pounds.

  • Can I drink before the tour?

We do not allow pregaming for our rides. The reason for this is that you can get a DUI on our Electrical ADA carts if you are over the legal alcohol limit and some of our rides include an adult beverage, predetermined in size and alcohol. If you show up intoxicated, your guide reserves the right to cancel your ride without a refund. We are driving electrical carts and it is each person's individual responsibility to ensure that they can operate safety, not just for themselves but also for pedestrians and cars that share the roads/sidewalks with us.

  • On which terrain can they operate?

Rydables are designed for outdoor use and can navigate multiple terrains. While they aren't classified as "all-terrain," they excel in various environments such as grass, gravel, dirt, and hills, provided the ground isn't too thich or deep. Additionally, Rydables can operate indoors with ease and safety.

  • How do you clean the skins when they get dirty?

Rydables skins are all removable, machine washable, and interchangable.

  • How fast do they go?

Rydables can travel up to 8 mph which is pretty fast when you're riding a blue elephant down the sidewalk! Their top speeds can be both manually and/or electronically governed based on the needs of the ride and/or the venue.

  • Do the Rydables leave black streaks anywhere?

No. All Rydables use non-marking, rubber, multi-terrain tires.

  • Do I need a drivers license?

No driver’s license is required to ride with Lone Star Rydables. Our rydables are designed to be easy to use and accessible for guests of all experience levels. A brief orientation is provided so you feel confident and comfortable before you ride.

  • What time should I arrive for my tour?

We recommend arriving about 15–20 minutes before your scheduled tour time. This allows time for check-in, signing waivers, pictures, and a quick safety overview so your tour can start on time and you can enjoy the full experience without feeling rushed.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Although tours are non-refundable, we have a 100% flexible re-scheduling policy.* We realize that things happen. Changes to your booking will be done free of charge, but must be made AT LEAST 48 hours in advance of your scheduled tour. If you are a “No-Show” and no advance notification of your absence is given, you will not be allowed to reschedule and no credit will be given. If your tour is canceled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we will reschedule you on the next available tour or you will have a full credit to use with no expiration.
